Here's the continuation of part 1. In this part two, we want to talk about what to do when strong weather attacks, detailed steps for cleaning a custom canopy tent, and methods to deep clean a tent.

Now, if you want to order a 10x10 custom tent, please do contact Signleader Display to discuss some more about what kind of tent you need and designs you want to apply.

In this second part, let's start with some tips surrounding severe weather.

Severe Weather

1. Winds

When there are strong winds in the area, make sure to add extra weight, so the tent won't get blown away by force. Unsecured canopies may blow over easily that could cause potential damage and injuries.

2. Rain

Never let the rain pool on the top part of the tent. Push the water from the inside, and help the water flows down. The pooling water may cause the fabric to stretch, and your custom 10x10 tent may easily be ruined later.

3. Lightning

Never see a custom canopy as a weather shelter! If there's a storm coming, it's a clear message you should pack up and leave the area immediately.

4. Snow

If your customized tents are not snow resistant, then don't let snow build up onto them. Carefully clean the snow from the outside using a pole or any long tools. Make sure to swipe lightly to not break the tent's fabric.

Step-by-Step to Tent Cleaning

It's time to clean your custom tent. First, prepare all the things that are needed:

  • Warm water
  • Dish soap
  • Cleaners for outdoor gear
  • Sponge or cloth
  • Bathtub, the larger the better

And here's what you need to do to clean your dirty tent:

  • Gently use the sponge or cloth with a small amount of dish soap to the dirty areas
  • Fill the tub with lukewarm water, and put in the tent-cleaner solution
  • Unzip the tent's door, open it up
  • Turn the tent inside out
  • Soak your tent into the bathtub for several minutes
  • After it's done, drain the water, and fill the tub with clean water
  • Rewash the tent several times to get the soap off the tent
  • Hang the tent in a shaded area until it's completely dry.

Deep Cleaning Steps

Now that after you done all the steps above, the tent cleaning is done! But, if you ever noticed something is wrong with the tent, you can proceed to deep cleaning process.

If your 10x10 canopy tent has foul odours, it's best to use an enzyme cleaner. Follow the direction, especially on how long you need to soak the tent. If you notice any tree sap, lift it up with the mineral oil, but don't over-scrub. You can also try other alcohol-based cleaners such as hand sanitiser or wet wipes. Just make sure that you will clean it thoroughly after the sap or other stains have been cleaned up.

If the 10x10 event tent's door isn't running smoothly, use a toothbrush to clean any dirt or sand stuck in the zipper teeth.
